Last week we met up with Julien Renault, designer of the Log Table and Punched Collection at Hem, to visit his studio in Brussels, talk about life and his personal journey into design.

Designed by Julien Renault
A graduate from prestigious ECAL in Lausanne, Julien Renault started working as an assistant to a fellow Hem collaborator, Sylvain Willenz right after his studies. With a handful of awards under his belt, Renault established his own practice in 2011. Inspired by everyday objects, his designs are clean, simple and minimalistic, with the Punched Metal collection being the best example of his approach.
